“Essentials of Economic Sustainability – Energy: The Ultimate Source of All Economic Value”
“A sustainable economy must be able to maintain its productivity and value to society indefinitely, essentially forever,” and that sustainability “ultimately depends on the sustainable use of energy.”
This is so simple it’s mindboggling. Once again we’re slapped in the face with the fact that we have the resources for sustainable energy just waiting to be harnessed on a large scale—the Sun. Until our economy “revolves” around it so to speak, we’re fighting an uphill battle. It’s actually quite ridiculous. It’s like a sick person having medicine right at their bedside, and yet they choose to ignore its presence rather than using the medicine…instead, for a false sense of comfort, they eat ice cream, likely with high fructose corn syrup while watching GIFs of cute puppies. Yes. It’s almost just like that. Moral of the story: as a result of mankind’s choices, the planet is “sick.” The economy is sick. We are sick. The sun is our medicine.
“Rolling Stone: Global Warming’s Terrifying New Math”
It is not surprising that together, China and the United States are responsible for 40 percent of global carbon emissions. Despite the fact that currently no major initiatives are being taken by either country to resolve the issue, I’m not getting hung up on believing that we’re all doomed. I remember this Truth: We all create reality. I mean this in a very literal sense. We create those things and experiences that feel good and those that don’t. When we look around this planet and see things that are less than pleasant, the only reasonable, and sane, and mature thing to do is take responsibility for our actions and the creations that we've chosen to manifest. We messed up. We all did. It’s okay, but now it’s time to move on and make drastic changes to the way we live on this planet and how we interact with the rest of Nature. Some think the problem is too big—that the government is too corrupt, the corporations are too greedy, people are too stupid. While we’ll always be able to find evidence of exactly what we believe, including these things, we can also choose to believe something else. It first starts within. By “going within” we’re reminded of the interconnectedness between all of Nature. We also remember from where Creation springs forth. The drastic changes that are needed to slow down or completely halt the destruction that has started on the planet can and will be solved by nothing less than a shift in consciousness. We can make changes in our daily lives as we go, but ultimately as people continue to wake up and remember that they are part of a magnificently beautiful system—a sacred system that includes every single Thing and One—they will treat all life as divine extensions of Self.
“Power to the People”
Free, clean energy should be the main focus for individuals and countries worldwide right now. Rather than focus on the sad truth that we already have the technology and resources for free, clean energy and why a major shift hasn't already taken place, I’ll focus on the fact that I really like the idea of fuel cells. I love SUVs and I’ve always planned to get one, but I can’t justify it knowing what I know about oil. It’s bad enough that I drive a car, but driving a heavy, gas-guzzling SUV as a primary vehicle would be completely unnecessary for me. Using fuel cells could eventually be an alternative for me though. Fuel cells could be the answer to many of the questions I have concerning not only the vehicle that I drive, but also how I power certain items in my home.
